Peter T. Vu

Peter T. Vu is an Attorney at West and Dunn with a focus on criminal defense. Peter obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2021, where he was named 3L of the year for the Asian Law Students Association. For the past three years, prior to joining West and Dunn, he was employed as an Assistant State Public Defender in Wisconsin. In this capacity, he fielded cases of a wide breadth, from lowly misdemeanors and OWIs to high level drug trafficking cases and violent felonies. He has in-depth experience taking cases from the very beginning, to negotiations and litigation with the state, as well as extensive jury trial experience. He also has fielded mental health commitment, guardianship proceedings, and juvenile adjudications. Through his practice, Peter preaches humility and mutual respect as he seeks to accomplish his clients’ goals and make their voices heard. Peter strongly believes that no one is the worst thing they have ever done.

Peter grew up in Waukesha prior to going to school in Madison. He is a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks. When he is not being a lawyer, he will often be found reading news on his favorite sports teams. He also enjoys watching films in his free time and attending live concerts, theater, and comedy. And he enjoys traveling.

Peter is admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin and is also a member of the Marathon County Bar Association and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
