West & Dunn was founded on August 1, 2016, by Shana Dunn and Travis West, working from a small office above the Lone Girl Brewing Company in Waunakee, Wisconsin. From its inception, the firm has been guided by two core principles.

First, West & Dunn is committed to delivering exceptional legal representation through creativity, innovation, and a client-centered approach. The firm embraces forward-thinking strategies and leverages technology to enhance both the quality and accessibility of its services. By doing so, West & Dunn is able to meet clients where they are—whether in rural Wisconsin or across the country—while maintaining the high standards of advocacy and professionalism typically associated with much larger firms. Every case is handled with a focus on personal attention, responsiveness, and tailored legal solutions designed to meet the unique goals and challenges of each client.

Second, serving the veterans of the United States Armed Forces remains central to West & Dunn’s mission. While the firm proudly represents many non-veteran clients, it has also become a premier provider of legal services to veterans pursuing service-connected disability benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Recognizing that veterans’ legal needs often extend beyond VA claims, the firm also offers a full range of traditional legal services to veterans and veteran-owned businesses.

Driven by this mission, the firm has grown steadily and now operates offices in the metropolitan areas surrounding Madison, Baraboo, Manitowoc, and its newest location in Lodi. These offices allow West & Dunn to serve clients throughout Wisconsin and across the country, ensuring that both veterans and non-veterans alike have access to trusted legal counsel and dedicated advocacy.
