West & Dunn Supports Professional Development Seminar at Hunter Army Airfield

On October 30, 2018, West & Dunn attorneys Eric Pangburn and Travis James West participated as presenters at The Darby Project’s Professional Development Seminar at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. The event was supported by Ranger-oriented nonprofits, including GallantFew, the Three Rangers FoundationU.S. Army Ranger Association, and the Lead the Way Fund, as well as by the US Special Operations Command’s Warrior Care Program (Care Coalition).

The event kicked off with a keynote presentation by Matt Eversman, veteran of the Battle of Mogadishu, made famous by the book Black Hawk Down and movie by the same name. Following Ranger Eversman’s speech, the morning sessions focused primarily on business development and professional health. A presentation on personal finances by Marcus Hull of the Three Rangers Foundation was followed by a discussion led by Mr. Pangburn regarding entrepreneurship and pitfalls that may be avoided with proper planning.

As the day progressed, the seminar shifted focus to matters related to personal development. Karl Monger of GallantFew and Gold Star Mother Vonda Coulter Rodgers of the Three Rangers Foundation addressed aspects of mental health and self care. The afternoon concluded with a presentation on veterans disability benefits by Kristi McNichol, Superintendent of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County, IL and an executive board member of the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (“NACVSO”), and Travis James West of West & Dunn.
