Jason E. Johns has dedicated his law practice to serving his fellow veterans and their families. He is an Army combat veteran of the war in Iraq. He has received the Purple Heart and been awarded the Combat Action Badge. He has been through the V.A. system and personally understands the extreme challenges faced by veterans when applying for service connected disability benefits. Jason has used this experience to fuel his desire to excel in his VA disability claims practice, fighting to assure that his fellow veterans receive the benefits they have earned.

Jason initially put his experience to work by forming a small Madison law-firm that was dedicated to assisting veterans with VA service connected disability claims. He has represented numerous veterans before the Board of Veterans Appeals and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (“CAVC”). He is a member of the CAVC Bar Association, and serves as a member of its Board of Governors as well as the chairman of its Constitution & Bylaws Committee. Jason is also a member of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates (“NOVA”).

Prior to practicing law in the VA disability claims realm, Jason served as the deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. He also also performed pro bono legislative work in the State of Wisconsin and in U.S. Congress on behalf of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (“VFW”), American Legion, and Military Order of the Purple Heart, U.S.A. (“MOPH”). Jason is a member of the MOPH, and has served as its National Judge Advocate. In addition Jason has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the International Law Students Association, Fundraising & Marketing Committee for the Fisher House of Wisconsin, Advisory Council for the UW Veterans Law Center, and currently serves on the Board of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation, Hogs for Heroes of WI Advisory Board, Veterans for Smart Power National Leadership Council of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, National Vice-President for the Purple Heart Riders Association and as the State Senior Vice Commander for the VFW of Wisconsin. (Gold Legacy Life Member of Wisconsin’s Mother Post 328 in Stoughton).

Jason lives outside of Oregon, WI with his wife and three children. Depending on the time of year, when he is not busy fighting for his fellow veterans, Jason can be found on the lakes fishing, on the links golfing, in the saddle riding his Harley Davidson or in the deer stand and/or duck blind.
