Attorneys Shana Dunn, Jason Johns, and Travis West attended the fall conference hosted by the National Organization of Veterans Advocates in Portland, Oregon from September 12-14, 2019.
On December 7, 2018, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit is scheduled to hear oral arguments in a case called Procopio v. Wilke. Although this case has quietly made its way through the courts, it has the potential to dramatically change the manner in which the US Department of Veterans Affairs addresses service-connected disability benefits claims associated with exposure to Agent Orange.
The Wisconsin Access to Justice Commission has named Travis James West of West & Dunn to the 2017 Pro Bono Honor Society. The award, announced annually in conjunction with National Law Day, was created by the Commission with support from the Wisconsin State Bar’s pro bono program to honor lawyers who have performed at least 50 hours of qualifying pro bono legal services during the past calendar year. Mr. West, who also received the honor in 2013 and 2014, routinely represents veterans without charge before the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
American history is replete with those who go from the military into government. Washington. Grant. Eisenhower. Rarer is the American who lays aside an office at home to man the proverbial foxhole. In 2000, Waunakee attorney Travis West - the middle class son of a dad who was a cop and a mom who worked in a hospital - did just that.
Attorney Travis James West of West & Dunn has been honored by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in the field of business litigation, and as the top rated business litigation attorney located in Waunakee, Wisconsin.
